Support and Wellbeing

Learner Support

If something is making your study harder, you do not have to sort it out on your own. This page tells you who to contact at Apex Learning and Development (RTO 46324), which free services outside Apex can help with wellbeing, safety, money, and reading and writing, and how to raise a concern.

If you need help right now

  • If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000 for police, ambulance or fire.
  • If you need to talk to someone now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14, at any time of the day or night.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can call 13YARN on 13 92 76, at any time.

Apex staff are not a crisis service, and our phone is not answered after hours. The services on this page are there when we are not.

Who to contact at Apex

Tell us early. Most things are easier to fix before they build up.

Your trainer or assessor

Talk to them about your learning, your assessments and your progress, or if something is getting in the way. You can contact them during their working hours.

The Learner Support team

For welfare and wellbeing support, reasonable adjustments, extensions and leave, help with reading, writing or numbers, and a referral to a service outside Apex.

info@apexld.edu.au

0433 895 537

9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. We answer every learner query within three business days.

What we can help with

  • Study support: help with your learning and assessments, study skills and career advice.
  • Reasonable adjustments: changes that help a person with disability take part on the same basis as everyone else, such as assistive technology, a support person or extra time. Raise it at enrolment or as soon as the need comes up.
  • Extensions and leave: if you need more time for an assessment, ask for an extension at least ten business days before the due date where you can. If something unexpected happens, ask anyway. We reply in writing within five business days.
  • Personal and wellbeing concerns: we can talk it through with you and, where you need more than we can offer, refer you to a service outside Apex. We will tell you if that service charges a fee.

What you tell us about your health, disability or learning needs is kept confidential and stored securely, as set out in our Privacy Notice.

Help with reading, writing, numbers and computers

Language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills support.

  • Nationally recognised qualifications: before you start, you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) assessment. If it shows you would benefit from support, we agree an Individual Learning Plan with you.
  • Any course with Apex: tell your trainer or the Learner Support team, when you enrol or book or at any time after that, if reading, writing, numbers or using a computer might make the course harder. We will talk with you about the support we can give.
  • If you need more than we can offer in your course, we will help you find a program that fits. You can also contact these services yourself.

Raising a concern, complaint or appeal

If you are unhappy with any part of your training, or want a decision reviewed, you can raise a complaint or appeal under our Complaints and Appeals Policy (POL08) through the student portal, by email to info@apexld.edu.au or by telling any staff member, anonymously if you prefer and with a support person if you wish, and the full process is on our Complaints and Appeals page.

This support is for everyone who trains with Apex Learning and Development, RTO 46324, whether you are in nationally recognised training or in one of our non-accredited professional development programs. The LLND assessment and Individual Learning Plans apply to nationally recognised qualifications. Services outside Apex are independent organisations; their phone numbers and hours were checked against each service's own website on 30 September 2026. Support at Apex is provided under our Learner Support and Progress Policy (POL06). Read our policies.
